It’s been an interesting journey finding out what keeps us busy day to day. A surprise has been the variety of what we end up towing. The first picture is a load of scrap metal from a farm cleanup and a Suzuki Samurai that was burned down to bare metal in a house fire. The second is an Aston Martin from a private shop we tow for on a regular basis. It’s kind of strange to have such different cargo from one day to the next, but it keeps things from getting boring.
Well, technically its here, but I had to throw out that title for any Game of Thrones fans who might happen to be reading. Now that the wet and cold are setting in, we’re getting a few more calls from people who’ve slid off the road, or into another car. Nothing really dramatic yet, but with the majority of rain still to come, I’m sure we’ll get some interesting calls.
This past May 18, I was playing in the Michael J Russell Memorial Golf Tournament, named after our late father. On the 16th hole of Seascape Golf Club, I ended up teeing off first of our group, and hit a hole in one. The article in the Press Banner, which can be read here, tells the whole story, but the upshot is that with the prize money I won, we were able to buy our second truck, the orange Chevy two car carrier you can see below. It’s enabled us to be much more versitile in our business, and given us a very welcome saftey net in case we have a problem wih one truck, or need to run two jobs at once. I don’t play much golf, but after this I may have to change that!
